Headroom
Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
Short version: Headroom does not collect any data. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.
What the app stores, and where
Headroom stores the caffeine doses you log, your daily check-ins, your settings, and (if you import a DNA file) three genotype results. All of this is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We do not operate any servers for this app.
No accounts, analytics, or tracking
There is no sign-up. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software. It makes no network requests and does not track you across apps or websites.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Headroom saves the doses you log as dietary caffeine. It reads dietary caffeine logged by other apps and your sleep data to estimate your bedtime and how quickly you clear caffeine. This data is used only on your device. It is never transmitted, sold, or used for advertising. You can change or revoke access at any time in the Health app or in Settings > Health.
DNA files
Importing a DNA file is optional. When you pick a 23andMe or AncestryDNA raw-data file, Headroom reads it on your phone and keeps only three results: CYP1A2 rs762551, AHR rs4410790, and ADORA2A rs5751876. The file itself is never copied, stored, or uploaded. You can remove these results at any time with "Delete all data."
Notifications
Reminders, such as the daily check-in, are scheduled locally on your device. No notification service or server is involved.
Your control
In Settings you can export everything as a CSV file, or delete all data. Deleting all data also removes the caffeine samples Headroom wrote to Apple Health. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Children
Headroom is intended for adults 18 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
